I stepped back from acting many years ago, but I couldn’t stop the theatrical stories that whirled through my head. I couldn’t quiet them. Like most women, I suffered insomnia filled nights. One typical sleepless night, I got out of bed and started writing. The one act play I eventually finished, was given a staged reading in NYC, won an award in VT, was produced in LA, and then published. I was hooked. From that moment forward, I sit at 4am in the dark, while the world sleeps. No phones, no emails, no bagels. My characters...demented mothers, toxic but hysterically funny families, and middle aged women in Spanx, are all there in the dark, waiting for me.
